           Teresa, last night



   Teresa, last night 
   we drank, danced, 
   y gritamos
   as mariachis sang 
   joyous songs;

                       the músicos 
                       serenaded us, 
                       love songs
                         that moved our spirits
                       years ago
                       when in our need to know 
                       each other's life 
                       we clung
                        to fragile moments
                       and saw new worlds beckoning 
                       in our words;
   years later,
          two children and a
   four year separation & prison
          sentence later,
   we've once more
   sought out ternura y cariño,
   expressing them again
   within
   the worlds-of música, palabras, 
   and searching hands/lips/realities-
   we lovingly create & re-create 
   within the delicate balance
       of our separate realities
         as we coincide through time/space 
   and mutually give shape 
   to naturaleza in its universal sense
         of duality as it creates oneness of life;

   having refound you
   so many times,
   in moods, moments, caresses, and sharing,
   reconozco que solamente
     te quiero,
   tal como quiero/aprecio
     el poder vivir,
           vibrantemente....
