These are photos from when the deathmask was made, it was made by artist John Houser. Jacinto Sánchez and my wife Rie Nakai assisted him. How the deathmask came about goes like this. The day that my father died I was talking to my brother Jacinto about having a tombstone made by John Houser. Jacinto liked the idea but he came up with a better idea, let's ask John to make a deathmask. He called up John and John had been thinking the same thing (deathmask). The next day, September 4, 1995, we went to the funeral home and he made the mask
This last photo compares the profiles of Dr. Sánchez, in death (by the deathmask) and in life (by the bust that was also made by John Houser).
