YESTERDAY

It seemed only yesterday 
yet his mind reflected 
the ripples of time.

It seemed only yesterday 
that he and her met 
and discovered a glowing love 
between them 
and seemed unfazed by 
the uncertained future before them.

It was only yesterday 
that they waited for 
the joyful coming of their first born.   
Again they seemed fearless 
in preparing their children 
for their future.

Over the years
likes rotations of the earth
they drifted distant
yet somehow
and courageously
they rediscovered
their glowing love and warmth.

They see the eagerness 
in their children 
fearlessly learning 
their magnificent universe 
knowing that the love 
of their parents
forever shines their path.
