The Beast Within
The loud clap of thunder
could not drown out
the bone chilling roar
of pain
from within the beast.
The beast's mind
tormented by the betrayal
of his most treasured friend
felt as if the universe
was about to collapse on him.
He bellowed out another roar
full of pain,
He would rather face death
than the pain in his heart.
The beast sought
to find the peace
that had harbored within
for a millennium.
Now his thoughts
loom in darkness
only dark and dreary thoughts
linger, teasing, waiting
wanting
revenge, vengeance,
or worse.
Confused by the lack
of peace
the mighty beast
cries out once more.
The cleansing tears
wash his eyes
and once more he sees
light...
